MSGT DAVEY LIND, USMC
Master Sergeant Davey Lind was born and raised in North Western, PA and is a 1989 graduate from Titusville area High School, attending boot camp immediately following graduation at Parris Island, SC.
On June 14, 2007, in Iraq, al AnbarProvince, Reconnaissance Platoon, MSgt Lind was commanding 25 of his fellow marines, and riding in the last vehicle of six, when his Humvee hit a pressure plate IED, also known as a roadside bomb. The blast from the device amputated his legs from the knee down; the doctors told him it would take more than a year before he would walk on prosthetics….he did it in two months.
Now retired since December 2009, Davey continues to contribute to the defense of the nation in the private sector. He and his wife Lisa have 4 children; a daughter, Riley and 3 sons Jakob, Keith, and Justin.
Master Sergeant Lind’s personal awards include; the Purple Heart, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Combat “V” , the Naval Achievement Medal with Combat “V” and 4 Gold Stars and the Combat Action Ribbon with 2 Gold Stars.
Davey has been an integral part of the OCSOT Semper Fi Charity Golf Tournament since its inception and is a constant reminder of why the Semper Fi Fund and OCSOT exists.
